A 50 pound sack of clean, whole corn. It is an energy source for mature poultry, cattle, sheep, and goats, and maintenance or lightly-worked horses on good quality forage and a vitamin/mineral supplement. Works well for horses with HYPP needing low-potassium diets. Non-fortified.
Recommendations in lbs. of feed per head per day preferably spaced over several small meals. Feed along with at least 1% of the animal's body weight in forage (10 lb. hay for a 1000 lb. horse, more if horse is active or not overweight). Cattle, sheep and goats generally need more forage. Feeding rates may vary with age, size, temperament, health, status, climate, forage quality, and activity level. Never offer corn free-choice. always provide adequate forage, a vitamin/mineral supplement and clean fresh water. If fed to poultry, a supplemental protein source must be provided along with vitamins and minerals. Corn used as a scratch grain should not comprise more than 10% of the total diet.
Mature maintenance 1.0 to 2.0 (mature horses), 0.5 to 1.0 (mature sheep/goats), 2.0 to 4.0 (mature cattle); Light work 1.0 to 3.0 (mature horses).
